Amai! Hé, bien! * In collaboration with the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, SEMIC, the European Commission’s Semantic Interoperability Conference is set to return on the 27th of June in Brussels.

The year’s theme ‘Interoperable Europe: From Vision to Reality’ focusses on the wider context of the Interoperable Europe Act and its future implementation. SEMIC 2024 will specifically concentrate on the development, share and reuse of interoperability solutions, services and products to attain this goal.

What to expect?

Among others, the program foresees:

- a content keynote on the successful implementation of interoperability solutions and AI,
- high level panels on interoperability and AI implementations across the EU,
-  parallel sessions on topics such as semantic specifications, digital-ready policy making, interoperability in data spaces, interoperable data quality for AI trustworthiness and AI for interoperability.

Additionally, there will again be plenty of opportunities to network, accompanied by exhibition booths that will showcase demos and success stories from industry and academia around public sector interoperability and AI.

Return of the pre-conference workshops

Participants will also have the opportunity again to join SEMIC’s pre-conference workshops for more in-depth and technically focused discussions with policy makers, academics and industry representatives.

Continuing the tradition from last year, these sessions will take place one day before the main conference – on the 26th of June. Places for on-site participation to these workshops will be limited. Therefore, if you would like to attend in person, registering quickly after the opening of the registrations will be required. The workshops will be streamed as well.

High popularity

Over the pastyears, the SEMIC conferencehas grown in popularity, with audience increasing with every edition. Last year, SEMIC 2023, in collaboration with the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, attracted a record number of 458 on site visitors and 803 followers online.
