Upcoming Events February 2024

Published on: 02/02/2024 News

The Semantic Interoperability Community (SEMIC) organises several workshops and webinars on various topics impacted by interoperability challenges in 2024. Are you curious about the planning for the coming month? You can check out the upcoming events on the SEMIC Support Centre.

Over the course of the month February SEMIC will organise two webinars on related, yet distinct topics: the SEMIC Style Guide and the revision of GeoDCAT-AP.

Upcoming events February

The first webinar, to be held on the 6th of February between 14:00 and 16:00 CET, will be on the SEMIC Style Guide. The Style Guide provides rules on naming conventions, syntax, artefact management and organisation. The first, introductory webinar in this series was held almost a year ago and, during the second webinar, issues that were raised by the community were addressed. During this third instalment, your input regarding the first blog post and alternatives to UML as a starting point for the conceptual model to create semantic specifications, will be the main topics. The event page of this webinar can be found here.

On the 20th of February between 10:00 and 12:00 CET, the introductory webinar on the revision of GeoDCAT-AP will be held. This will be the first in a series of webinars on the revision of GeoDCAT-AP. The goal of this series will be to align the specification with DCAT-AP 3.0.0 and its annex, DCAT-AP for HVD, as well as to investigate its relationship and intersection with other semantic standards in order to achieve interoperability. In this first webinar the focus will be on the state of play, GeoDCAT-AP’s relation with other initiatives and specifications, tooling and the work plan. More details can be found on the event page.

Starting from February, SEMIC will publish interviews that were conducted during the SEMIC2023 Conference. The topics of the interviews range from AI for semantics, to Data Spaces, Linked Data Event Streams, and SEMIC achievements & future. Be sure to keep an eye on the Interoperable Europe X account and LinkedIn page for short bite sized versions, or watch the full length interviews on SEMIC TV.
