Upcoming Events April 2024

Published on: 02/04/2024 News

The Semantic Interoperability Community (SEMIC) organises several workshops and webinars on various topics impacted by interoperability challenges in 2024. Are you curious about the planning for the coming month? You can check out the upcoming events on the SEMIC Support Centre.

Over the course of the month April, SEMIC will organise three webinars. One of which will be on the Core Vocabularies, another on the revision of GeoDCAT-AP, and the last for the month of April on LDES.

Monthly April

The first webinar of April will take place on the 9th from 13:00 to 15:00 CEST. This webinar is on the review of Core Vocabularies and Style Guide blog post and will cover their ongoing maintenance, invite the SEMIC community's input on specific GitHub issues, and discuss recent editorial changes and bug fixes. Additionally, it will focus on a new blog article about mapping the Core Vocabularies to XML. Attendees of this webinar are encouraged to review this article and provide feedback via the Style Guide GitHub repository.

Next is the third Working Group webinar on the revision of GeoDCAT-AP on the 23rd of April from 10:00 to 12:00 CEST. This webinar will cover unresolved issues from the previous webinar; specifically alignment issues with SEMIC Style Guide and DCAT-AP 3.0.0, and explore GeoDCAT-AP related tools like XSLT. The goal of the session, which may also include guest presentations on GeoDCAT-AP implementations, is to align the specification with other standards for increased interoperability, with attendees invited to provide feedback on open GitHub issues.

Finally, the last webinar of April which will take place on the 30th from 10:00 to 12:00 CEST will be the webinar on Linked Data Event Streams (LDES). This webinar will focus on the current progress of the SEMIC LDES pilots, emphasising their ongoing development and outcomes. It will also discuss the future maintenance strategies for LDES to ensure their sustainability and effectiveness.
